New Culinary and Adventure at Paws Up

Paws up Montana

It’s the year of food and family at The Resort at Paws Up, Montana’s luxury ranch resort and the birthplace of glamping. This year Paws Up welcomes a brand-new culinary education program, an expanded adventure activities roster and special offers for families looking to reconnect and rejuvenate amidst 37,000 acres of beautiful Montana wilderness.

Culinary: Gastronomic Education and Renovation

An expert in all things elk and huckleberry, Executive Chef Ben Jones will launch the Paws Up Culinary Academy in April, offering customizable, progressive cooking classes within The Resort’s Bull Barn, a historic event venue. Dishes will be reflective of indigenous tastes and flavors of the region and will use locally sourced ingredients from nearby ranchers, dairy farmers, distillers, vintners and growers. Guests will learn cooking techniques working with Jones and will create a featured dish at the end of each class.

Pomp, Paws Up’s fine-dining restaurant, known for its refined rustic ranch cuisine has also been updated with chic new décor and table settings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows with incredible mountain views.

Adventure: From Big-Sky High to Luxury Lake Escapes

Paws Up is excited to announce day trip excursions to the Island Lodge, an unexpected island getaway in the heart of Montana. An expansive log cabin nestled amongst towering pines on an island in the middle of stunning Salmon Lake, the Island Lodge is situated on five picturesque miles of water at the southernmost tip of the Seeley Swan Valley. The lodge offers a plethora of activities, including canoeing, fishing, kayaking, sunset pontoon boat tours, swimming and waterskiing.

The Resort at Paws Up also offers thrilling wilderness activities, including participating in real working cattle drives, rappelling down 180-foot cliffs, zooming along on ATV jaunts, and a challenging high-ropes course.

Spa Town

Montana Therapy: Relax + Retail

Helmed by Spa Director Laura Russell, the wellness program at Paws Up will offer an expanded yoga curriculum and a new glass-enclosed yoga studio, ideal for downward dog visions of surrounding meadows and wildlife sightings. Spa Town’s collection of pristine white tents continues to be a guest favorite, and the experts there melt city blues away by using the most prestigious products and indigenous herb-infused body scrubs made by Russell herself.

Following an afternoon of pampering, The Resort’s recently renovated Wilderness Outpost will provide guests with 25,000 square feet of Montana-sized retail therapy. Debuting this spring, the Wilderness Outpost will feature one-of-a-kind art, jewelry, fashion and more by local artisans and craftspeople, as well as a designer jeans bar and popular luxury-lifestyle brands, such as Frye boots and Stetson cowboy hats. Do we need to say more?

Horseback Riding

Family Travel: Play Together, Stay Together

The family-owned ranch resort is particularly popular for multigenerational gatherings and family trips, particularly as a result of The Resort’s incredible collection of luxury two-, three- and four-bedroom homes. For the first time ever, Paws Up’s acclaimed Kids Corps of Discovery youth adventure program will be complimentary for guests of the homes. Kids Corps of Discovery will open The Resort’s summer season with three brand-new immersion itineraries tailored for Paws Up’s youngest guests to take full advantage of the history, environment, adventure and wildlife that define Montana. Signature activities include a petting zoo, a go-kart track, an impressive tree house and cattle drives.

Each of Paws Up’s 28 luxury homes, which offer from 1,100 to 3,250 square feet of living space, is impeccably appointed with scenic views, rustic furnishings and amenities such as fireplaces, hot tubs, expansive wrap-around decks and more. Select luxury homes feature a private backyard tent, Paws Up-style, fully outfitted with electricity, a set of comfy beds and lounge furniture. The toys and games included in the tent for big kids, little kids and parents who want to be kids again for a night also help provide for a perfect family adventure.

In addition to the Kids Corps of Discovery, Paws Up offers more than 50 adventure activities and a robust special events program comprised of Wilderness Workshops and dedicated culinary weekends for the whole crew to enjoy together.
